Are you on the lookout for a picture-perfect day amidst a breathtaking field of NJ sunflowers? If so, you’re in for a treat! After a visit to pick sunflowers at a New Jersey Sunflower farm, a few years back, I decided to create a list of places in New Jersey where you can go to see sunflowers, and maybe even pick sunflowers for yourself, for a friend, or for a loved one.

Here’s what we’ve discovered when looking for New Jersey Sunflower Farms. If you find more not on this list, please leave us the information in the comments below.

New Jersey Sunflower Farms

New Jersey Sunflower Farms in Northern New Jersey

Alstede Farms in Chester 2023 – NJ Sunflower Trail

The sunflower season is in full bloom from July through October 2023. Pick your own is open daily, 9 am – 5 pm. Admission to the Blooming Giants Sunflower Trail is included with weekday and weekend pick-your-own admission. Advance tickets are required. Weekday prices are $16.99 per person and weekend prices are $21.99 per person. Each ticket includes 1 pint of picked blueberries or 1/4 peck bag of picked peaches. Sunflowers are $2.50 per stem.

Stony Hill Farms in Chester 2023 – NJ Sunflower Field and Festival

At this Northern New Jersey pick your own sunflower farm sunflowers are available for picking during their New Jersey Sunflower Festival on weekends or weekdays pick your own sunflower times. Each festival ticket includes a wagon ride to the sunflower fields, time to take photos and enjoy the blooms, live music, and access to vendors. Guests can spend as much time taking pictures and exploring sunflower fields as they like.

Stony Hill Farms planted 2.5 acres and 8 varieties of sunflowers for viewing and sunflower picking. In one field, guests can walk through the fields and sunflower trails, linger and photograph as they please. In a second sunflower field, guests may cut their own sunflowers.

Tickets for the festival start at $24.99. The festivals start the weekend of August 5, 2023. The weekday pick your own sunflower tickets do not include access to sunflower viewing fields. Admission to the cutting field is $10 and includes one stem. Additional sunflowers are $3 each. All sunflower picking is expected to be completed between August 25-27, 2023.

Donaldson Farms in Hackettstown – No longer growing sunflowers

In 2019, Donaldson Farms had 40 acres of black-oil sunflowers where 1-hour tours could be enjoyed on weekends from late August through September. Unfortunately, Donaldson Farm has not grown sunflowers in the last few years and they have confirmed with us that they no longer grow sunflowers. (July 21, 2023)

Three Silos Farm in Newton – NJ Sunflower Farm

The Three Silos Farm’s spectacular view of the countryside complimented with a six-acre sunflower and zinnia field is what makes Three Silos Farm such a special place to visit.

The Three Silos Farm did not grow sunflowers for the 2022 season of sunflower picking in New Jersey. As of August 5, 2023, there are no details about the 2023 season on their Facebook page and their website appears to be offline.

Liberty Farm Sunflower Maze/Sussex County Sunflower Maze in Sandyston 2023

Liberty Farm Sunflower Maze also goes by the name, Sussex County Sunflower Maze. With over 1.5 million sunflowers, this is the largest sunflower maze on the East Coast! Aside from the maze and pick your own sunflower field, the farm offers a scarecrow contest, bug safari tour, and kids scavenger hunt.

Sunflower maze and pick your own sunflower fields are expected to open daily from August 23, 2023 through to September 17, 2023. Hours are 9am – sunset. Admission for 2023 is $10 per adult weekdays and $20 per adult weekends and holidays. Call (973) 219-6356 for current admission prices.

Andersen Farms Sunflower Maze in Sparta – No longer growing sunflowers

In 2019 Andersen Farms had a sunflower maze that was open daily during the summer months. The maze consisted of over 200,000 sunflowers spanning 10 acres. Inside there was a scavenger hunt with clues to entertain the whole family! Sadly, the maze has not happened since. Organizers have confirmed it will not happen for 2023 either.

Brodhecker Farms in Sparta – NJ Sunflower Field

This 7 acre field of sunflowers is will be open to the public or anyone who chooses to stop for a photo or just to enjoy the view. The 2023 sunflower season will begin August 25 and is expected to be open for three weekends. The fields are located along Rt 15 in Sparta NJ.

Von Thun Farms Sunflower Trail in Washington 2023 – NJ Sunflower Trail

Now open daily through Labor Day, 10 am – 5 pm
Weekday visitors: $12.99/person, Weekend visitors: $14.99-$16.99/person (includes hayride). Kids under age 2 enter for free. Sunflowers are available for purchase, $3/stem or 3 stems for $6.

Holland Ridge Farm in Cream Ridge 2023 – NJ Sunflower Farm

This sunflower farm NJ will be open daily, 9 am to 6 pm, from September 15, 2023 through October 15, 2023, with 5 million sunflowers! The Holland Ridge Farm field of sunflowers will feature 8 varieties of sunflowers including yellow, red, and white plus thousands of other cut flowers! This year, there will be 5 new photo opps.

Holland Ridge Farm even provides plastic buckets for you to carry your sunflower stems. Flex tickets are available now. General Admission Tickets will be available to purchase beginning August 31, 2023. $15.00 per person aged 3 and up. The price to pick your own sunflowers is $1/stem.

Happy Day Farm in Manalapan 2023 – NJ Sunflower Farm and Trail

Happy Day’s sunflowers are available July 15th through August 27th, 2023. The farm is open Wednesdays through Sundays, 10 am to 5 pm, last ticket sold 1 hour before closing. Saturdays they are open till 7 pm.

Admission to this NJ sunflower trail is $18 per person. The sunflower field includes not just access to the sunflower and zinnia fields but also fun photo opportunities with props and such. Tractor ride included with admission as transportation to the fields. Children Under 1 are free. Cash only. Sunflowers are $2.50 each.

Melick’s Town Farm in Oldwick 2023 – NJ Sunflower Farm

Aside from all the fresh produce grown at Melick’s there are sunflowers! They have cut your own flowers available at the Oldwick location. No entry fee or reservations are required! They do ask that you please bring your own clippers.

They are open from 9:00 am and close at 6:00 pm daily.

Sahl’s Father Son Farm in Galloway – – No sunflowers for 2023

Sahl’s Father Son Farm is a Jersey Family Fun favorite. For 2022, sunflower festivals were Fridays and Saturdays from July 29 through August 13. One bloom was included with admission. Johnson’s Farm Locust Hall in Jobstown 2023 – NJ Sunflower Field

As of July 20, 2023, Johnson’s Farm Locust Hall appears to be open for sunflower picking.

Thousands of sunflowers planted at Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm are ready for picking until late August! For 2023, Johnson’s Farm Locust Hall is offering Park N’ Pick tickets, $4.95 per person. You can reserve tickets ahead of time and pay only for what you pick.

Park N’ Pick tickets are an all-access farm pass to their picking fields. Park N’ Pick is offered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with time slots beginning at 10 am until 5 pm. Travel along the Park N Pick route and make stops at picking fields along the way picking sweet corn, sunflowers, and peaches. As different varieties of crops ripen availability will differ. For more accurate picking availability please call the farm at 609-353-9000.

Ward’s Farm in Mannington 2023 – NJ Sunflower Farm and Festivals

Ward’s Farm is the newest pick-your-own sunflower farm we’ve discovered in Southern New Jersey. They are only open to the public for sunflower picking during their events. For 2023, their events are starting Saturday, July 22, 2023. Established in 2012 Ward’s Farm is a cut flower farm that specializes in sunflowers and dahlias. They have several varieties of both. Visit their Facebook page for dates for upcoming pick your own sunflower festivals.

Johnson’s Corner Farm in Medford 2023 – NJ Sunflower Maze and Farm

Among the many activities that go on at Johnson’s Farm, picking sunflowers is one of them! For 2023, the Sunflower Celebration is a fun-filled experience with a wagon ride, pictures in their South Jersey sunflower maze, and sunflower picking. The season runs from July 27, 2023 till when the sunflowers are no longer blooming. Hayrides are $6-8 per person to get to the field, and as with all “pick your own” at the farm, sunflowers are $1.50/stem.

Hayrides will leave the Farm Market from 10 am to 1 pm on weekdays and on weekends from 10 am to 4 pm. There is also evening sunflower picking on Thursday – Sunday evenings from 5 – 7 pm.

Hill Creek Farms in Mullica Hill 2023 – NJ Sunflower Farm

In the past, Farmer Mario had planted thousands and thousands of sunflowers, 4 types in all. And he planned on having all of them bloom in the same time periods of sunflower picking season in New Jersey. It’s not clear if that’s the plan for 2023, but there are now dates for the 2023 season at their NJ sunflower farm.

Starting September 15, 2023, Hill Creek Farms will be welcoming guests every Friday through Sunday. Tickets are required on Saturdays and Sundays. General admission tickets cost $12.50 per vehicle in advance online or $17.50 per vehicle on-site. Fridays there is no charge for general admission. Sunflowers are $3 each. Activities are available for an additional fee.

Dalton Farms in Swedesboro 2023 – NJ Sunflower Farm

Sunflowers are set to open in late August 2023. Tickets will likely go on sale around August 15, 2023.

Dalton Farms will be open from August 24th through October 8th for the 2023 season. They are open from 10 am -7 pm everyday. All Guests 3 and older required an admission ticket. Ticket prices are $13 online or $18 at the gate. The cut-your-own sunflowers are $2 per stem or 10 flowers for $10.

Petersburg Sunflowers in Woodbine – NJ Sunflower Farm

119 Old Tuckahoe Road, Woodbine, NJ 08270 (609) 536-4080 – They do not maintain an online presence.

This privately owned sunflower farm is located along the highway in Cape May County. Owner, Donald Westergom, plants and cares for the crop all summer, selling blooms for 50 cents each, from a cart in his front yard.
