New Jersey Sunflower Farms
After our recent visit to pick sunflowers at a New Jersey Sunflower farm, I decided to create a list of places in New Jersey where you can go to see sunflowers, and maybe even pick a few yourself, a friend, or a loved one. Here’s what we’ve discovered when looking for New Jersey Sunflower Farms. If you find more not on this list, please leave us the information in the comments below.
New Jersey Sunflower Farms in Northern New Jersey
1 Alstede Farms Lane, Chester NJ 07930
Open most weekdays from 12 pm – 4 pm and most weekends from 11 am – 5 pm.
The “Pick Your Own” hayrides take you to fields of fresh flowers including a sunflowers farm area among many other varieties, where you can pick your own bouquet to take home.
Andersen Farms Sunflower Maze
Rt 15, Sparta NJ 07871
The sunflower maze is open daily during the summer months from 11 am – 8 pm ~ Cost is $10 per adult, $5 per child 4-12 years of age, FREE for children 3 and under.
The maze consists of over 200,000 sunflowers spanning 10 acres. Inside, find a scavenger hunt with clues to entertain the whole family!
Blackburn Garden Center Sunflower Maze
1 Fetzer Lane, Augusta NJ 07822
This sunflower maze is open daily through the summer and into the fall from 12 pm – 7 pm ~ $10 per adult, $6 per child.
Rt 15, Sparta NJ 07871
This 7 acre field of sunflowers is open to the public and anyone who chooses to stop for a photo or just to enjoy the view. Blooms are at their height in early August and begin to fade toward Labor Day. The fields are located along Rt 15 in Sparta NJ.
358 Allen Road, Hackettstown NJ 07840
40 acres of black-oil sunflowers are planted on Donaldson Farms, where 1 hour tours can be enjoyed on weekends from late August through September. Tours are adults $8, children 5-13 years of age $5 and children 4 and under FREE.
Liberty Farm Sunflower Maze
101 Route 645, Sandyston NJ 07826
With over 1.5 million sunflowers, this is the largest sunflower maze on the East Coast! Aside from the maze and pick your own sunflower field, the farm offers a scarecrow contest, bug safari tour, and kids scavenger hunt.
Sunflower maze and pick your own sunflower fields are open daily beginning August 13th from 9 am – 6 pm ~ $10 per adult, $6 per child age 4-12, FREE for children under 3.
New Jersey Sunflower Farms in Central New Jersey
1112 Duke’s Parkway West, Hillsborough NJ 08844
This New Jersey Sunflower Farm provides an educational experience to go along with the breathtaking views. Many species of flowers and wildlife inhabit the property, including sunflowers. Be sure to check the website for hours and information on tours and other educational opportunities that take place at Duke Farms. Hours vary depending on which activities you want to participate in, as do prices, though many are free of charge.
Johnson’s Corner Farm
133 Church Road, Medford NJ 08055
Among the many activities that go on at Johnson’s Farm, picking sunflowers is one of them! Hayrides are $4 per person to get to the field, and as with all “pick your own” at the farm, pricing is based on how many you pick. Hayride schedules change daily, so make sure you check the website before you go.
Johnson’s Farm Locust Hill

Johnsons Farm offers many “pick your own” opportunities throughout the year, and in late summer, sunflowers are one of them! Hayrides to the field are $4 per person, and the flowers themselves are priced based on how many you pick. Call ahead or check the website as hayride schedules vary through the week.
Melick’s Town Farm
170 Oldwick Road, Oldwick NJ 08858
Aside from all the fresh produce grown at Melick’s town farm, is a beautiful field of sunflowers. You can take a hayride out to the fields to photograph the flowers while picking your own produce.
Open daily throughout the summer from 9 am – 6 pm.
New Jersey Sunflower Farms in Southern New Jersey
119 Old Tuckahoe Road, Woodbine, NJ 08270
This privately owned sunflower farm is located along the highway in Cape May County. Owner, Donald Westergom, plants and cares for the crop all summer, selling blooms for 50 cents each, from a cart in his front yard. Westergom welcomes passersby to stop and enjoy his flowers, and snap photos of their children with the crop as well. Click over to read more details about this Cape May County sunflower farm.
