Planning a #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate?

Why not make it a Mickey Mouse Party?

If your kids, like mine, are totally OBSESSED with all things Disney, then this article is for you! My children and I had the pleasure of hosting a #DisneyKids Preschool playdate over spring break. What a great way for us to break up the boredom of a week and a half with no school than to invite over some friends for a Disney party! You don’t always need a birthday as a reason to have a Disney party. When our #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate kit arrived, we were thrilled to see that we received lots of Mickey and Friends, Sofia the First, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed items! With our household full of boys and girls of various ages, there was something for everyone! We immediately started planning for our Mickey Mouse party with the addition of Disney friends like Sofia the First and Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates and our own friends from school.

Our #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate kit included these items. We thought they would make for a perfect Mickey Mouse Party.

  • An HP card kit for creating fun invitations for our playdate
  • Mickey and Friends themed tablecloth, plates, cups and napkins, as well as decorations
  • Disney themed games, such as Character Charades, Magic Match, and the Hidden Mickeys Game
  • Pop Secret Popcorn
  • A soft and adorable Nemo Pillow Pet #PillowPetsDisney
  • HP social media snapshots paper
  • #Softsoap Handwash plus lotion to make cleanup a breeze

Mickey Mouse Party Invitations

HP’s great products make printing from home simple. With their HP Card Kit and HP social media snapshots paper, you can have a lot of fun creating your Mickey Mouse Party invitations.  The HP social media snapshots paper lets you print pictures as stickers. Take pictures of your kids dressed in their best Disney props like Sofia the First tiaras or Jake and the Neverland Pirates hats. Use the HP apps to create your card design and then stick the picture to the inside of the card for a special touch.

Mickey Mouse Party Food

Once the invitations were sent, all we had to do was wait! I set the table with all of our great Mickey and Friends tableware and the kids couldn’t wait to dig in! We had fruit and veggies, chips, pretzels, and a nice big bowl of Pop Secret popcorn. My favorite of all the snacks we made were the Mickey Mouse cupcakes!

How to make Mickey Mouse cupcakes

I started with vanilla cupcakes, topped with white icing. I covered each cupcake with red sugar, made Mickey heads out of chocolate sandwich cookies (regular-sized and mini cookies), and then finished them off with yellow chocolate candies, for Mickey’s buttons! They were as adorable as they were delicious!

Mickey Mouse Party Games

After our snacks, it was time for games and crafts! Some of our younger guests preferred to use the Mickey and Friends sticker sheets we received, to make their own pictures, while the bigger kids loved playing the “Hidden Mickey Game”, just like we’ve done in the parks in Disney World Orlando! Before the party started, I had gone around the house and hidden Mickey heads in various places, like the basketball hoop in our playroom, the kitchen cabinet, and on our mantle. The kids had so much fun finding them at home, as they had found them on the wallpaper, carpeting, and pretty much anywhere you could imagine in the Disney parks! They kept track of how many Mickey’s they found with a special scorecard.

Mickey Mouse Party Favors

Once we finished up with the games, everyone received a Mickey and Friends goody bag to take home. I used some of the extra game cards and stickers from our preschool playdate kit, Jake and Sofia party hats, as well as some Finding Nemo fruit snacks I had picked up at the store to finish them off. I think everyone had a great time at our #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate, it’s all they’ve talked about ever since!
