When we ended our last Weekend in Jersey, we ended it on a delicious note with dinner at Goodfella’s in Bayonne. We were greeted and treated so warmly by Donna, the owner and her team, that it was like having dinner with family. It was like Donna was my sister and my boys were her little nephews. When my kids requested chocolate milk, Donna went back to the kitchen to find chocolate syrup so the kids could have their chocolate milk.
Later, Donna’s chef brought out pizza dough and my boys made their own pizzas for dinner. (Take a look our video below.) Goodfella’s does offer a children’s menu with other non-pizza options like chicken fingers, cheese ravioli, and spaghetti and meatballs.
Then, as my boys’ pizzas were cooking in the brick oven, Donna brought out crayons so the kids could color on their placemats. Was this VIP treatment? Well, yes and no. Donna tells us they work to give every guest with that experience. What a great atmosphere to share a pizza with family or something else from their Italian-inspired menu.
Here’s how my boys’ Goodfella’s pizzas turned out.
I had the lasagna…yum yum.
Stuffed from our pizza, we shared the Oreo chocolate cake for dessert. It was so scrumptious.
As we finished dessert my boys finished their artwork. And just like a proud parent, Donna hung up my boys’ artworks inspiring the creation of a new art wall at Goodfella’s. My boys were so excited. So when you visit with your kids, like we know you will, make sure your kids add their own artwork to the wall.
