Make it a Special Family Movie Night with Disney Moana Blu-Ray DVD

Posted on: March 7th, 2017 by

I was honored to be invited to the #BeOurGuestEvent, a Disney press junket for Beauty and the Beast, Moana Bluray, and other Disney and ABC TV programming. As a guest, my expenses were covered in return for a series of articles about my experiences and reviews of the programming.

Moana

I admit while Melanie got to see Moana first during an advanced screening, my family was a little late getting to the theater, but that doesn’t mean we weren’t anxious to see it. You can read Melanie’s Moana movie review by clicking here.

Can I let you in on a secret? The Moana Blu-Ray DVD is being released today March 7, but before I headed out to Los Angeles for the Disney Beauty and the Beast Be Our Guest Press Junket, I was sent a pre-release of the Disney Moana Blu-Ray DVD with bonus features. You can get yours now through our affiliate link on Amazon. It arrived while we were away for our Family Travel to the Catskills series, but once we were home we couldn’t wait to watch it.

As I was watching the Moana Blu-Ray DVD with bonus features I couldn’t help but think how all the bonus features on the Moana DVD could make for an extra special family movie night.

Hunt for Easter eggs in the Disney Moana movie, you know those subtle references to other Disney movies. Here’s a hint for one. We believe there’s a reference to Finding Nemo or Lilo & Stitch in one of the first scenes. Can you find it? If not, you’ll learn where it is in the Moana Blu-Ray DVD bonus feature about the Easter eggs.

  • Sing and dance along to the Disney Moana music video for “How Far I’ll Go.”
  • Learn the words to the deleted Disney Moana song, “Warrior Face.”
  • Watch the Disney Moana Maui mini-movie, Gone Fishing or the short film, Innerworkings.
  • Talk about how the movie would have been different if the deleted scenes weren’t deleted.
  • Discover how the heritage of the islands influenced the story of Moana.
  • Play dress up. Who can create the best island costume with items in your house? Let the Moana Blu-Ray DVD bonus feature about Island Fashion inspire you and your kids to get creative.
  • Know the way a Disney movie can change a life by listening to how Moana influenced the lives of Opetaia Foá , Mark Mancina, and Lin-Manuel.

Jennifer Auer is the hyperlocal mom blogger who runs Jersey Family Fun. From New Jersey, this mom of 3 boys just can’t sit still! Her husband likes to say she’s a work-at-home mom who never stays home. Jennifer started traveling as a child and hasn’t stopped since. Instead of letting her husband and boys slow her down, she brings them along! Did you know that boys behave better when they are out exploring? As her boys start to become teens there’s still so many places she wants to discover with them both across the U.S. and internationally. She has been a Jersey Girl for 20+ years, and a Jersey Mom for 8+ years and a New Jersey mom blogger for 7 years, although she'd much rather be referred to as an influencer or just by name. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreneurship from Bryant University in Rhode Island.
