Convenience and Comfort at the Country Inn at Jiminy Peak

We were given a two-night stay at the Country Inn, a Jiminy Peak hotel at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort by Jiminy Peak and 1Berkshire. We appreciate their support of Jersey Family Fun and our efforts to share information about Massachusetts ski resorts with our readers. As always all opinions are our own.

Location, Location, Location!

The hotel location is key when staying at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort

We had heard from family members that Jiminy Peak was an ideal mountain destination if you are looking for a shorter drive and easier mountain for kids. I wanted a ski in/ski out resort that didn’t require driving or a shuttle bus to the mountain, and my son wanted snowboard lessons. My husband looked to give the kids their first night skiing experience and we all wanted a cozy room to relax “apres ski.” Could Jiminy Peak give us all that?

Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort is in Hancock Massachusetts, in the Berkshire mountain range. The drive took under 4 hours from our Monmouth County home, and since they offer night skiing we were able to get some skiing in on our arrival day WITHOUT rushing to get there. There is snowmaking at Jiminy Peak so the slopes began to open around the second week of December. Our trip was the third weekend in December and there was plenty of real snow as well (snowboots required for all walking around the resort and some serious icicles on the buildings!) Convenient Lodging at the Jiminy Peak Hotel ~ Country Inn

Our family of 4 needed a place to stay at Jiminy, and there’s no place like staying right on the mountain. Jiminy Peak Resort offers a few lodging options and all the Jiminy Peak hotels are geared toward families and their stuff! Our home for two nights was the all suite Country Inn. Located right on the Jiminy Peak mountain just steps from the lifts, the lodge and the pub, the Country Inn’s location couldn’t be better.

View from our room!

This Jiminy Peak hotel offers dedicated parking for hotel guests. The lot surrounds the Country Inn and as we walked in some helpful employees held the doors for us (super useful when you’re loaded with ski gear!). The lobby has a cozy gathering space with couches and a fireplace, and the Inn was quiet on that Friday afternoon. Check in was easy. With a quick review of the Country Inn hotel amenities and directions to our room we hopped into the elevator and headed to our second floor room.

We stepped off the elevator and were excited to see a fireplace in the second floor lounge. There’s nothing like sitting near a fire after a day in the snow! We reached our room which was near the lounge and headed in. Take a look at our room tour video to see what we found!

Our Experience Staying at the Country Inn

Our Jiminy Peak home for two nights was cozy and just fit our family of 4. The kids took the sofa bed and the adults got the bedroom, but in order to hang out in the room you will need to put the bed back for the day. We didn’t get a cleaning service but we did spend a few hours in the room midday that might have prevented the housekeeper from coming. We didn’t have trouble getting new towels or supplies that we needed. You bring a lot of gear with you skiing so you will need to use the closets to their fullest.

Relaxing in the room

Dining and eating at the Country Inn

Food at ski resorts is pricey! After a trip to a nearby Target for easy meal ingredients, we were able to make our dinners and breakfasts in the room. Best to stick with microwaveable or stovetop meals as there’s no oven. Not interested in kitchen duty? No worries as there’s a restaurant at the Inn as well as right next door and a variety of food options at the lodge. The Country Inn does not offer room service.  The lobby offers 24/7 hot chocolate and coffee so we chose to take advantage of that rather than make our own.

Country Inn room amenities

There are some small soap/shampoo offerings in the bathroom but definitely, bring your own. Don’t bother bringing a hair dryer though as there’s one provided for you (and you’re skiing – you’ll be bundled up anyway!).

Our view from the room was great, especially with the night skiing! I enjoyed watching the skiers and snowboarders and observing the snowmaking. Being so close to the mountain, the non skiers in your crowd (or those who tire easily) can wait in the room just as easily as in the lodge. My daughter and I got a kick out of seeing my son and husband come skiing up to just under our window!

Country Inn hotel amenities

Pack your swimsuits! Our second night staying at the Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort we visited the indoor hot tub. The outdoor hot tub does not open unless temperatures go over 25 degrees and it was too cold that weekend. There’s a small workout room as well for the convenience of the hotel guests.

Once we figured out the layout of the hotel and the exits, we found the fastest way to get to the lodge or the lift. Not having to get on a bus to go to the mountain meant more skiing and more rested kids. The convenience of The Country Inn for your stay at Jiminy Peak cannot be beat!
