6 Ways to Spend a Day at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk

This post was sponsored by Jenkinson’s Boardwalk and JerseyMoms Blog. Jersey Family Fun was selected to be one of the Jenkinson’s Family Ambassadors. We appreciate their support of Jersey Family Fun that allows us to share with families information about New Jersey Amusement Parks and family attractions we think your family may enjoy.

How fabulous is it that we live in New Jersey where up and down the Jersey Shore are so many great ways to make some family memories? We’re not a state of just beaches, but we also offer the best of family fun with attractions to please everyone. Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant is one such area BUT it’s not just one attraction; it’s several. In fact you might find, like I did, that one day is not enough to explore Jenkinson’s Boardwalk.

We were there for Jenkinsons Christmas in July celebration

After kicking off our Jenkinson’s Boardwalk passes giveaway we went back to explore all Jenkinson’s had to offer. All though we had to leave early for the boy’s soccer practice at night, I thought getting their early we’d find great parking and have enough time to enjoy everything. We didn’t! We experienced a lot, but not for as long as my boys would have liked. Every day they keep asking to go back. So you can be sure we’ll be back to visit all these ways to spend a day at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk.

6 Ways to Spend a Day at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk

1. Jenkinson’s Aquarium

The Jenkinson’s Aquarium has made it its mission to help all of us learn about marine life and conservation. From exhibits such as Atlantic sharks, Pacific sharks, coral reefs, penguins, and seals to a touch tank where you can touch sea creatures, from live feedings to animal shows, Jenkinson’s provides so many ways for kids to learn and be excited about aquatic life. My kids loved trying on the helmet of a deep sea explore, looking at sharks up close, and discovering some differences between seals and sea lions. (Our Instagram video shows a clip from the feeding session where we also got the lesson.)

It’s time for a feeding. #Jenksmemory #JerseyMoms #JerseyFun

2. Amusement Rides

From the little kids to the big guys, from low thrill to high thrill we found amusement rides we call could enjoy. Jenkinson’s Amusement rides are also arranged in order by thrill level and age of the rider. More mild rides are on one end and at the other, are the rides that pack more of a punch.   Some of our favorite Jenkinson’s Amusement Rides were the

    • Crazy Bus,

    • Swings,

Swing rides at amusement parks, yeah or neah? #JenksMemory I admit they scare me a little, but my youngest has no fear.

  • Tornado,

  • Flitzer,
  • and Super Himalaya

You can see the full listing of Jenkinson’s Amusement Rides along with height requirements and ticket/credit prices at their site.

Wristband specials are definitely the way to go. Who wants to keep buying more tickets every time your child wants to reride their favorite ride. We found the lines to be small with my boys never having to wait more than one ride rotation before their turn.

3. Miniature Golf

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk had at least 3 miniature golf areas to explore: Rooftop Golf, Lighthouse Point Golf, and Castaway Cove Mini Golf. We’ve checked out the Lighthouse Point Golf and Rooftop Golf. They were both great! It’s still on our list to get back and check out the Castaway Cove. All three provide fun unique challenges for young and older who want to putt their way to a minigolf win. Each location also has two courses available to help keep kids entertained while also minimizing wait times. Make sure you ask at the end of the game if they have any challenges you can do to earn another round of golf.

4. Beach

My boys loved the Jenkinson’s Beach. Beach passes are available for a small fee for children and adults and are available at several entrances to the beach. It’s also not a long walk to the water and we found the lifeguards to be very attentive.

5. Fun House

The outside colors, lights, and images caught my boys interest in the Jenkinson’s Fun House. Since my youngest was a few inches higher than the minimum requirement of 42″ inches we gave it a try. We stepped inside to find a maze of mirrors (leave your bags outside if you can because this area is narrow). I admit we had some difficulty and ended up right back at the entrance. A staff member helped us through. The rest of the Fun House had glowing lights, mirrors, wiggly floors, twists, turns, and even a slide for the kids. I held my boys hands just in case. We didn’t lose anyone. There were images to see on every side of us including the ceiling. Was it an illusion? Would the room really be spinning? We never knew until we took those steps. When it was all over, my boys enjoyed it… but weren’t quite ready to do it again. Maybe next time.
