Thanks to everyone we collected 192 pairs of shoes for Soles4Souls. Less than a month ago we started our drive to collect shoes with this post. The Laurie Berkner Band was ending their Birthday Party concert tour with a stop in West Long Branch, New Jersey and they would be collecting shoes to benefit Soles4Souls. Jersey Family Fun wanted to help.

The excitement of our shoe drive spread like a wild-fire. Absecon Nursery Preschool was gracious enough to be a drop off site and the kids all brought in their own shoes they no longer needed, collecting 30 pairs in the first 3 days. Since then we shared our shoe drive with the Galloway Patch. A day after that the Press of Atlantic City picked up the story.

I am so touched by the generosity of all those who donated. There were tiny shoes, adult shoes, boots, sandals, slippers, flip-flops, cute princess boots. Adults gave shoes that looked like they had never been worn, several were still in the box. The message got out and so many of you stepped up to help.

I maybe the face in the picture, but behind each pair of shoes is the face of someone who cared enough to make a difference. For that I feel so blessed.
